Habersham Christian Learning Center Scholarship
Seniors Scholarships are available per successful completion of Habersham Christian Learning Center courses.
Truett McConnell:
Students must take 3 courses and earn a 90% in those courses at HCLC and can earn $1,250 PER SEMESTER for 4 years. Interested applicants will need to provide a certificate of completion from the HCLC to the TMU financial aid office. The scholarship will be offered to all eligible 2017-2018 graduates, beginning Fall 2018 (or Spring 2018, if a HCHS student graduates this December and starts TMU in the Spring).

University of North Georgia Military Scholarship
The state of Georgia offers 42 scholarships per year to Georgia high school seniors who attend the University of North Georgia and commission as officers in the Georgia Army National Guard after graduating with bachelor's degrees. The scholarship pays for your room, meals, tuition, books, uniforms, and fees. In addition, you receive National Guard weekend drill pay, GI Bill®, pay for attending Army basic and advanced training, and Army ROTC contract pay (beginning of sophomore or junior year, if offered a contract to commission as a lieutenant). You may also be eligible for an enlistment bonus and monthly GI Bill® kicker. Eligibility: Be a legal resident of Georgia; .receive a nomination from a Georgia Legislator from your congressional district.; meet the academic requirements and gain acceptance as a regular freshman Cadet at UNG; meet Army National Guard enlistment standards; agree to serve as an enlisted member in the Georgia Army National Guard while participating as a Cadet at UNG; and if awarded a scholarship, you must commission upon graduation from UNG and serve four years as an officer in the Georgia Army National Guard. Georgia State University - Presidential Scholarship
The GSU Presidential Scholarship program recognizes incoming first-year students who were leaders in their high schools and offers them the support and experiences that will set them up to be leaders in their careers and communities. The scholarship is valued at up to $28,000 per year (depending on in/out-of-state student status and participation in our student assistantship program).

National Scholarships
Stamps Scholars |
The Stamps Family Charitable Foundation partners with visionary colleges and universities to award multi-year scholarships that enable extraordinary educational experiences. Scholars receive annual awards that range from $5,000 to $72,000 (four-year awards total an average of $20,000 - $288,000) with additional funds for enrichment activities such as study abroad, academic conferences, and leadership training. The Stamps Family Charitable Foundation and partner schools evenly share the costs of the awards.
The unique benefit that all Stamps Scholarships include is an enrichment fund, an additional monetary fund for Scholars to use in their academic and professional development. They may use the award to study or volunteer outside the United States, conduct research, or participate in a leadership program or academic conference. We like to think of this part of the award as the “dream fund.” |
Gates Scholarship |
The Gates Scholarship is a NOMINATED by faculty, and is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors. Starting in 2018, the scholarship will be awarded to 300 top student leaders each year with the intent of promoting their academic excellence through college graduation, and providing them the opportunity to reach their full potential. AWARD Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
BASIC ELIGIBILITY To apply, students must be: A high school senior From at least one of the following ethnicities: African-American, American Indian/Alaska Native*, Asian & Pacific Islander American, and/or Hispanic American Pell-eligible A US citizen, national, or permanent resident In good academic standing with a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) Additionally, a student must plan to enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university. The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. Eligibility: the student must be on track to graduate at the end of the current academic year; intent to enroll in an accredited 4-year college; cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher; and family income less than $95,000. This highly competitive scholarship provides up to $40,000 each year to attend an accredited undergraduate college or university.

The HSF Scholarship is designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a university degree. Scholarships are available, on a competitive basis to high school seniors. Awards are based on merit; amounts range from $500 to $5,000, based on relative need, among the Scholars selected. Eligibility: students must be of Hispanic heritage; minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, not-for-profit, four-year university; be a US Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA); and complete FAFSA or state based financial aid application (if applicable).
Nominated by faculty, the Posse Foundation identifies, recruits and trains individuals with extraordinary leadership potential. Posse Scholars receive four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships from Posse’s partner colleges and universities. Posse Scholars receive four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships from POSSE'S partner colleges & Universities.
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help high-achieving students graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $48,000 over four years to attend college. Recipients must enroll at an eligible four-year not-for-profit college or university the first semester following high school graduation. Free Workshops, Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically taught as a part of the school curriculum. Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen;; must attend an Eligible Public High School. (HCHS meets eligibility); ; must have achieved a 3.75 CGPA or higher.;must be ranked in the top 10% of the high school graduating class, or be the highest ranked student if the class has fewer than 10 students.; must enroll at an eligible four-year college or university the first semester following high school graduation.; must work 240 hours in the twelve months prior to the start of college; from August 2023 to August 2024; must complete the FAFSA using 2019 tax return information. The EFC must not exceed $6,500.; must apply for eligible Federal and State grants; and must not have been convicted of a felony. Deadline for application is December 1, 2023.

Horatio Alger Scholarships

As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need. There are several scholarship opportunities - state, career & technical, targeted, and national with varying deadlines and requirements.

Voice of Democracy Competition
|
Established in 1947, our Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Each year, more than 51,000 9-12 grade students from across the country enter to win their share of more than $1.9 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program. The national first place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins a minimum scholarship of $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. Want to apply? Read the rules and eligibility requirements and all student entries must be submitted to a sponsoring local VFW Post by midnight, Oct. 31. Coca Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. Applicants must be current high school seniors who are U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, U.S. Permanent Residents, Refugees, Asylees, Cuban-Haitian Entrants, or Humanitarian Enrollees. Applicants must be planning to pursue a degree in a U.S. post-secondary institution. Applications are due by 5:00 pm (EST) on Monday October 2, 2023.

YoungArts' National Arts Competition

Are you a visual, literary, or performing artist? YoungArts’ signature program is an application-based award for emerging artists ages 15–18 or in grades 10–12. Selected through a blind adjudication process conducted by an independent panel of highly accomplished artists, YoungArts winners receive financial awards, creative and professional development experiences working with renowned mentors, and become eligible for nomination as a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts. Joining a 20,000-strong alumni community, YoungArts award winners form a rich network of peers that provides support and opportunities throughout artists’ careers.. Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States’ largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. Created in 1995 by Prudential and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the program honors middle level and high school students for outstanding service to others at the local, state and national level. National Presbyterian College Scholarship
|
The National Presbyterian College Scholarship program was created with the Presbyterian Church (USA)’s related colleges and universities in the 1950’s. The program seeks to assist Presbyterian students attending Presbyterian related schools. In 2010, Financial Aid for Service office reviewed the program and revised certain elements of the program to promote leadership development and discernment of vocation. This emphasis allows students to not only gain valuable knowledge for the world, but also to engage with discovering who God created them to be. Between twenty-five and thirty-five students will be selected for the award. Those students will have the opportunity to renew the scholarship provided they maintain at 2.5 GPA, participate in a campus ministry or regularly attend church during college, and participate in discernment of vocation through a series of essay questions that ask the student to consider who God is calling them to be. Equitable Excellence Scholarship

Every year, students across the country work hard to make a positive and lasting impact in their communities and beyond. And every year, we award $1.8 million in college scholarships to hundreds of these remarkable young people throughout the nation representing all 50 states, Washington DC and Puerto Rico. Students have the opportunity to receive a $2,500, $10,000 or $25,000 scholarship. Applicants to the Equitable ExcellenceSM Scholarship must demonstrate the ability to set and reach goals, as shown by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities—especially those that lessen risk to health, safety, the environment, or financial security. The application opens in September.

Ann Ford Scholarship
|
The Anne Ford Scholarship is a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500/year over four years) granted to a graduating high school senior who will be enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program in the fall. Students must have a documented learning disability (LD) and/or ADHD. The Anne Ford Scholarships were created for students with learning disabilities to support their pursuit of post-secondary education and career advancement goals. Scholarship applicants should demonstrate their ability to contribute positively to society and present opportunities for other students with learning disabilities. The application opens in the fall.

Goya Foods Scholarship
|
The Goya Foods Culinary Arts Scholarship is available on a competitive basis to students planning to enroll as freshman in a culinary arts or food sciences area of study. Four awards of $5,000 each will be granted every year and are renewable for up to three years, or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, for a maximum scholarship award of $20,000 per student provided he/she remains eligible to receive funding. Application deadline is typically mid February.

National High School Peace Essay Contest
|
The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) partners with the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) on the annual National High School Essay Contest. The contest each year engages high school students in learning and writing about issues of peace and conflict, encouraging appreciation for diplomacy’s role in building partnerships that can advance peacebuilding and protect national security. The winner of the contest receives a $2,500 cash prize, an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. to meet U.S. Department of State and USIP leadership, and a full-tuition paid voyage with Semester at Sea upon the student’s enrollment at an accredited university. The runner-up receives a $1,250 cash prize and a full scholarship to participate in the International Diplomacy Program of the National Student Leadership Conference.
